Head Cover

(Pardon my frown, I am squinting at the camera's view finder!)

I designed myself a head cover, and my friends love it! Can you see the Star of David on the brim?
It is essentially a snood or slouch hat, made with the mathematics of this pattern, with ties that are a part of the brim that tighten the cap just the way you want made with this technique . I am having difficulty writing out the pattern though. I have the techniques down, I have made 2 of these. but the wording isn't coming to me.  I may have to break down and chart this one. So for now, look and admire :o)

If you REALLY really want one, go to my Etsy and click Request a custom order. (I have two on order already!)

Easter Weekend

What a beautiful weekend for a holiday! We spent the morning at the local toy store petting rabbits and ducks and goats. Took a swing by the fabric store to pick there brains about my sewing machine and then came home to sew a few belts and hair accessories for the Etsy store. DD is sporting a one of the new belts and hair bows as she feeds the goats! We are looking forward to Sunday morning as we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord. The children are in an Easter play with their Sunday school friends and have diligently memorized their lines. I'm so excited to see them on stage!

Pattern Central Station

It's been a long day and it's barely 4 pm. We had a lovely Good Friday service at the beach church today, where I successfully sang a solo. It's a lengthy drive and the warm sun through the van windows makes for a sleepy family!

DD is so excited about starting up a store on Etsy though, so instead of napping with the boys this afternoon, I spent it drafting patterns at the kitchen table. I have noticed that the average toddler pair of pants has belt loops, but try finding a belt to match! So DD and I have designed two belts, a buckle style and a doo-rag tie on style that even sports a pocket to hold toddlers treasures! In the process of cutting out pratice pieces we discovered that the sash belt when too short makes a very pleasant headband or neck tie scarf! So keep your eyes open for some interesting creations from us
